A wish list from Coffee Bay

We have been emailing back and forth with Dr. Eybe Meents of Ngcwanguba Community Health Care Centre. Dr. Meents is a native of Germany working to improve health in the Wild Coast. He operates a few medical clinics in the Coffee Bay area and is in desperate need of supplies. You can read more about Dr. Meents here. We asked him to create a wish list. What are all the things he could use the most? This is what he came up with:

* Blood pressure machine, $2,900 (20,000 South African Rand - ZAR)
* Three weight scales, $130 for all three (900 ZAR)
* Three baby scales $175 for all three (1,200 ZAR)
* Ten thermometers, $145 for all three (100 ZAR)

That's it? Imagine coming up with a wish list for an American medical clinic. It probably would add up to far more than $3,350 in equipment. We are working now to find grants for the items for Dr. Meents.
